Blackrose entity, is an NGO that aims to inform people about misinformation as well as protect everyone from false information.

In late December 2019 a new virus was discovered in China. The discovery of this virus has led to a global pandemic. The virus was titled the Novel coronavirus and it causes the illness that has officially been labeled COVID-19 by the World Health Organization (WHO). Studies have indicated that the coronavirus consists of a broad family of viruses that cause illnesses varying from common colds to more serious illnesses such as extreme acute respiratory syndrome (SARS). Coronaviruses can spread from animals to humans (they are zoonotic). Like every other illness, COVID-19 has symptoms. Some of the symptoms are as follows:

·         In the early stages of the illness, fever, exhaustion, and a dry cough are common, although some patients do not develop to a more serious illness.

·         Dyspnea is said to be common among hospitalized patients, regardless of the fact that vital signs were generally stable at the time of admission.

·         Patients over the age of 65 who have an underlying health problem are more likely to develop a serious infection.

·         On chest X-rays, a range of irregularities are possible, but bilateral lung infiltrates tend to be typical, similar to other forms of viral pneumonia.

Very little information regarding modes of transmission, clinical features and severity of the illness has been identified due to the fact that the illness was recently discovered. The limited information that has been gathered from studies indicates that human coronaviruses are spread from an infected person to others through:

·         Coughing and sneezing into the air

·         Touching and shaking hands in close proximity

·         Touching your mouth, eyes, nose after coming in contact with contaminated surfaces.

It is with great sadness to see and say that the COVID-19 pandemic is not the only pandemic the world is facing at the current moment. A global pandemic of misinformation is also affecting the world. Misinformation is false information that is circulated by accident or with the intent to deceive. In most cases information that is circulated with intent to mislead is known as disinformation. At the current moment conspiracy theories are spreading online at the same rate as the coronavirus. Here are some of the most common conspiracy theories currently circulating:

·         The rollout of 5G networks brought along with it the virus

·         COVID-19 was brought into China by the US military as a result of political strife.

·         COVID-19 is not a real virus

·         Death rates from COVID are exaggerated.

Conspiracy theories are attractive because they often connect two events that appear to correspond. The spread of misinformation on social media can have serve negative health effects on the public during a crisis like the COVID-19 pandemic, therefore it important to protect against being misinformed. The general public should be wary of misinformation, and should debunk it when exposed to it. At the end of the day it is very crucial that we speak up about misinformation on digital media, as false information has a great impact on our daily lives, therefore it important to protect against being misinformed. The general public should be wary of misinformation, and should debunk it when exposed to it. At the end of the day it is very crucial that we speak up about misinformation on digital media, as false information has a great impact on our daily lives.

  3. The BLACKROSE is doing a good a job by sarting an NGO for such problems. When it comes to misinformation it is a pandemic itself that people find it hard to get away from because when these myths are being spread through social media they tend to correspond with assumptions that people have so it becomes easy for them to believe. I hope your blog will open the publics eyes.

Just read it again and check grammar also at the end you repeated a phrase twice. You can also add the following as a misinformation:
: Once you had it you can't get it again.
: Honey and Ginger tea is a cure (I'm not sure about this, but okay)
    : Covid means instant death.
